Fight Censorship by Subscribing to Trūists.ōrg

Isn't It Time You Leave Your Abusive Relationship With Big Tech?
Isn’t it time we leave our abusive relationship with Big Tech networks like Facebook, Instagram & Twitter?

With an unprecedented level of online censorship, it’s become next to impossible to access to the exact content you want from the mainstream Big Tech social media platforms.

For this reason we’ve created this listing of all the various ways you can follow us, in addition to subscribing by email (see panel on right or pop-up message below):

Facebook, Twitter & Instagram Alternatives

Twitter & Instagram Alternatives:

TELEGRAM (Trūth Is Pɑwər)

We strongly feel this is the #1 best all-around option for most people today, though Apple and Google have now begun demanding some (currently very minor) censorship of certain links if installed via the Apple or Google Play Store… Thankfully, though, there are ways around this! *See below…

For those who are not yet familiar: It’s a bit hard to classify Telegram strictly as a social network or communications app, since it’s really both. If you haven’t already joined, we highly recommend you consider doing so, since there are a host of great reasons for doing so! Note: a phone number capable of receiving text messages is unfortunately required to join, but you can use a free virtual number via a service like Google Voice as an alternative, which we recommend, as well as avoiding registering with your real name, which will be listed in any public forums you may use there.

*Cont’d: To avoid this altogether, you can either download their uncensored app directly via their website at: telegram.org, which you can do for Android, Windows, Mac or Linux. If you’re unfortunate to be on an locked-down Apple iOS mobile device, your only option for avoiding censorship is to use Telegram from a mobile web browser like Safari (or preferably a non-Big Tech browser such as Brave or Firefox). To do this, simply sign in at web.telegram.org. Note: You’ll still need the app installed to make audio/video calls or Secret Chats through their network, which we highly recommend, as they are end-end encrypted (this means they cannot be easily intercepted by any 3rd party).

These other networks are generally a bit less versatile, polished and well designed than Telegram, but do also offer a viable alternative to Big Tech platforms, and we do occasionally post to these as well, though MUCH less often:

Facebook Alternatives:

VK (Trūth Is Pɑwər)

VK is the most popular Social Network in Europe, and currently the most comparable Facebook alternative that doesn’t have Orwellian censorship, and is user-friendly and elegant. Note: You’ll want to sign up via mobile device, which will require mobile verification. If you are not comfortable with this, try the other options below. Also note: this network is based in Russia, and most of the content is in Cyrillic, but this will not present any obstacles for use in English and other popular languages, you simply need to connect with other users who speak your language.

Diaspora (the first viable decentralized social network)

Diaspora is a great project that never reached its potential, due to the untimely passing of one of its founders (an interesting topic in itself). It’s definitely not a refined or finished product, but longtime users of Facebook should find its layout quite familiar, except that it features no ads, unwanted censorship or tracking.

Mainstream Channels (For convenience today, but we strongly recommend transitioning away from!)

So you’ve started transitioning away from mainstream Big Tech social networks–Great!  But what about your browser and search engine?  Thankfully we have some recommendations for those too, at: https://truists.org/privacy/
